제목 Study on salt removal using hydraulic cylinder in gas hydrate based seawater desalination
초록 The gas hydrate technique has been proposed for desalination process. The exclusion effect of ions by the hydrogen bonding of water molecules was the key point in the gas hydrate desalination process. This study was conducted to obtain the information for the possibility of gas hydrate method in desalination. The removal efficiency of cations and anions was analyzed without the pretreatment of seawater using our novel apparatus. In the single stage of CO2 hydrate process, desalination experiments were carried out depending on the hydraulic pressure. 67-91 % of each cations (K+, Na+, Mg2+, Ca2+, B3+) and 77-84 % of each anions (SO42-, Cl-) was removed. We discussed the implications of this work in seawater desalination via gas hydrate formations.
