In fabrication of nanocomposites aggregation problem always comes up. As a result their expected properties can be degraded. One of the ways to avoid the problems would be encapsulation of nanoparticles in micron-size capsules, which can also provide protection from oxidative environments such as heat, oxygen and moisture. We developed highly crystalline polyolefin based encapsulants from self-assembly in solution, which is cheap and good barrier from moisture. Uptake of the nanoparticles into the microcapsule can be controlled by mole fraction of polar component on the polyolefin. We present various ways of controlling morphology which are designed for specific applications. |
