제목 Improvement Separation Performance of Facilitated Olefin Transport Membranes Using Heat-treatment Process
초록 Olefin/paraffin mixtures have been separated through the cryogenic distillation process requiring an enormous energy consumption in huge plant more than 100 stages. Because of such disadvantages, advanced technology such as membrane process can be a good candidate to solve these problems. Especially, facilitated transport membrane for olefin/paraffin separation has shown good performance in the separation of olefin/paraffin mixtures, where carriers can interact specifically and reversibly with olefin, but not with paraffin. We have shown a high mixed gas selectivity more than 50 with surface–activated silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) as an olefin carrier. In preparation of Ag NPs, an evaporation step called the heat treatment process is required to convert silver cations into metallic Ag NPs further and also to make the solution more viscous for a knife casting. Herein the effects of the heat treatment in the casting solution are investigated to improve the olefin carrier activities and consequently the separation performance for olefin/paraffin mixtures
