제목 A SPR study for the changes of dielectric constant depending on the length of chalcone terminal group
초록 The electric constant of alignment materials is one of the factors that affect the alignment of liquid crystal. The physical and chemical modification in surface region of layer plays an important role to control the alignment of liquid crystal. We investigated the dielectric constant of surface region of alignment layer on polyimide(PI) film composed of chalcone derivatives[4-n-propyl-4- (3-propylene hydroxide) chalcone]. The dielectric constant was obtained via surface plasmon resonance technique, which enabled us to investigate the minimum of physical and chemical transitions. We could observe the transition of the dielectric constant depending on the length of thermal group of alignment of liquid crystal which was perpendicular to the direction of polarization.
