제목 A study on antimicrobial activity of silver and zinc ions contained film against Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli
초록  The antimicrobial effect of silver and zinc ions contained film was investigated for Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli. The silver nitrate and zinc nitrate were used as starting material for silver and zinc ions. Ethanol and de-ionized water (for hydrolysis) were added and then HNO3 was also added (adjusted to pH 1.5) as a catalyst. Then the prepared silver and zinc sol were deposited on glass substrate by using spin coating. The silver and zinc ions contained films were deposited on materials with size 1.0 × 1.0 cm2 by spin coating method at ethanol atmosphere. After deposition, the glass was dried at 100°C in a drying oven for 10 min. The dried silver and zinc ions film was heat-treated at different temperature. The surface and cross-section morphology of the silver and zinc ions contained film were observed by FE-SEM. The AFM was also used to measure the surface roughness of the thin film. The antimicrobial activity was tested by ISO 22196. To observe the antimicrobial activity of the silver and zinc ions contained film on the various bacteria, SEM was used. The antibacterial activity of silver and zinc ions coated glass against Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli demonstrated excellent antibiotic activity compared with parent glass. These findings suggest that the use of the silver and zinc ions contained film may have valuable applications in various fields such as the manufacture of housewares and medical devices.
