Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) are used in many applications due to the distinct properties and antimicrobial activity. Because of their extensive use, AgNPs will be likely released to the environment and concerns on their potential hazardous impacts on ecosystem is also rising. Recently, many studies have reported the toxic effects of AgNPs on human health. Once AgNPs released into aquatic environment, the human exposure to AgNPs by water consumption is closely related with their behaviors in water treatment process. Therefore, the behaviors of AgNPs in water treatment system would be of great interest to investigate. This study focussed on the UF membrane process. And the objective of this study is to evaluate the removal efficiency of AgNPs in UF membrane process and investigate its antibiofouling effect on membrane. |
