Conjugated polyelectrolytes(CPE) are pi-conjugated polymers with water-soluble side chains, these functional materials show the optoelectronic properties of conjugated polymers, providing biological sensing applications. Especially, CPE-based bio-imaging technique using photoluminescence (PL) emission in the range of biomedical window provides lower cell toxicity, higher signal amplification, and longer life time than those of quantum dot. In this study, we synthesized water-soluble fluorene-based polymers possessing near-infrared emission properties for application to bio-imaging. In addition, thermal properties, 1H-NMR, PL quantum efficiency, and cell toxicity of this polymer were examined. |
