Carbonation of strontium and barium in a molten LiCl-KCl salt by a Li2CO3 or K2CO3 injection |
초록 |
One possible alternative to existing reprocessing of spent nuclear fuel is pyrochemical process using a high-temperature molten salt. During pyrochemical process, a spent salt containing fission products such as strontium and barium is generated. These fission products significantly modify the physical and chemical characteristics of a salt, e.g. by increasing the salt melting temperature and the rate of heat generation of a salt. Therefore, it is essential that they are separated from the spent salt. In this study, carbonation of Sr and Ba in a LiCl-KCl molten salt is investigated by a carbonation agent (Li2CO3 or K2CO3) injection with temperature. |
