Tuning the Physical Properties of Copoly(ether ester) Thermoplastic elastomer Based on the Modification of Soft-segment Constitutions |

A series of copoly(ether ester)s were synthesized based on dimethyl-2,6-naphthalene dicarboxylate as the hard segment, 1,4-butanediol is the chain extender, and polytetramethylene ether glycol (MW-1000 and 1800), polycaprolactone diol (MW-530 and 2000), and polycaprolactone diol-b-polytetrahydrofuran-b-polycaprolactone diol (MW-2000) are the flexible segments. Copoly(ether esters)s are synthesized by varying the composition of hard and soft segments and the weight percentage of soft segments are changed from 30 to 50. The characteristic studies are devoted to the influence of flexible segment lengths. The copolymers were characterized by various spectroscopical studies and thermal analysis by differential scanning calorimetry. The mechanical properties of the copoly(ether ester)s also investigated. |
