Crosslinking density of crosslinking agent affects performance of ion exchange membrane. Make a comparison between crosslinking membrane in glutaric dialdehyde (AVSH-GD) and crosslinking membrane in grutaric acid (AVSH-GA). Different performance of the membrane were expected differently. The AVSH-GA has a better performance than the AVSH-GD for the foreseeable consequences. FT-IR is used to confirm structure of the membranes. TGA and DSC are used to confirm thermal properties. Basic performances of the membranes, such as water uptake, ion exchange capacity and electrical resistance were measured. Vanadium radox flow battery efficient of the membranes and tensil strength of the membranes were measured, too. The AVSH-GA exhibited IEC ranging from 0.56 to 0.86 meq g-1 , WU ranging from 28 to 32% and ER ranging from 4.77 to 8.52 Ω∙cm2. The AVSH-GD exhibited IEC ranging from 0.48 to 0.86 meq g-1, WU ranging from 28 to 32% and ER ranging from 4.77 to 8.58 Ω∙cm2. |
