Syngas is easy to obtained from natural gas, coal, biomass, so it is amajor substrate in anaerobic production of many chemicals. Formic acid is usedas efficient storage of hydrogen and carbon and is in the spotlight in thechemical industry as a new C1 building block which can be converted to many chemical product. Atpresent, there are many types of biocatalystimmobilization methods used for syngas fermenting process. In this study, wefabricate reusable ZIF-8 based dual enzyme nanocage composed of carbon monoxidedehydrogenase (CODH), formate dehydrogenase (FDH), and Fe3O4magnetic nanoparticles (MNP). The synthesized ZIF-8 enable the combination of atwo-enzyme cascade reaction steps, in which the CODH oxidizes CO to CO2,which reacts with the adjacent FDH reduces CO2 to formic acid. Toreuse encapsulated enzymes, MNPs are used fabricating ZIF-8.As a result, we successfully developed CO to formic acid conversion systemby fabricating reusable dual enzyme nanocage. |
