제목 Effect of pyrene butyric acid on the dispersion of graphene nanoplates in polycarbonate
초록 Polycarbonate is one of versatile engineering thermoplastics for various applications. Imparting electrical conductivities to polycarbonate (PC) is demanded for some application and graphenes are considered as conductive fillers due to the excellent mechanical and electrical properties. These outstanding properties of graphene may offer the improved performance of PC nanocomposites. However, proper dispersion of graphene in PC is not easy to achieve. In this study, pyrene butyric acid showing strong interaction with graphene was investigated to improve the dispersion of graphene. Graphene concentrate was obtained by sonication of graphites in N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP)/PC solution (5wt%) to prepare the nanocomposites of graphene and PC. Pyrene butyric acid(PBA) was added into the NMP/PC/GNP solution. Effect of PBA in the nanocomposites were investigated experimentally. It was found that PBA improve the dispersion of graphene in PC.
