Surface Modification of Gold Nanorods with Biocompatible Polymerfor in vivo Application |
초록 |
As an important member of noble-metal nanoparticles, gold nanorods are very attractive for sensing, diagnostics, photothermal therapeutic applications in many areas. It is well-known that gold nanorods have several limitations in application for biomedical research fields due to the presence of cytotoxic cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) which is the most widely used surfactant and stabilizes the colloidal dispersion of gold nanorods by its positive charges. In this study, CTAB on the surface of gold nanorods was converted into biocompatible polymers such as heparin and glycol chitosan which were conjugated with Dopamine and DOPAC for decreasing cytotoxicity and improving stability in physiological condition. The amount of conjugated catechol groups on the surface of gold nanorods were confirmed using UV spectrometer and stability of coated gold nanorods for 72 h in PBS buffer was verified for biomedical application. |
