Synthesis and Characterization of New Poly(phenylene methylene)s Using Sulfur-Containing Molecules as Linking Agent |

A Poly (phenylene methylene) oligomers (PPM-oligomer) were synthesized by thought well-known method. In the reaction details, sulfur-containing materials were made according to substitution reaction. we synthesized the new poly (phenylen methylene) polymer with sulfur-containing linker. This study focus on the increased refractive index compare to PPM-oligomer. The chemical structure of PPM-oligomer and new PPM polymer were confirmed by 1H-NMR, FT-IR. The molecular weight distribution of new poly (phenylenemethylene) thiophene (PPM-thiophene) can be determined by gel permeation chromatography (GPC). The thermal behaviors of PPM with sulfur-containing molecules also can be confirmed by DSC. |
