The highly condensed vinyl oligosiloxane was synthesized starting from vinyltrimethoxylsilane (VTMS) by a sol-gel process. The transparent resin can be cured by a hydrosilylation reaction with the Si-H containing cross-linker (hydrogensiloxane) under Pt catalyst. In this research, we focused on synthesis of the hydrogensiloxane by a sol-gel process under acidic condition. The methyldiethoxysilane (MDES) was used for Si-H containing precursor and diphenylsilandiol (DPSD) was added to react with MDES for a sol-gel process. The transparent and hydrogen (Si-H) functionalized oligosilxoane was prepared for a hydrosilylation reaction. We finally fabricated the optical hybrid material using a hydrosilylation reaction through a sol-gel derived vinyl/hydrogen oligosiloxanes. It has excellent transparency (90%), strong thermal stability (420oC), high refractive index (1.58), and especially, low shrinkage. Thus, it can be potentially used as an LED encapsulant and the micro-lens resin and etc. |
