Nanobiology and nanobiotechnology are rapidly evolving at the cross-roads of science and technology to create entirely new platforms. We have focused on the energy transfer system between nanoparticles and fluorescent (or bioluminescent) probes, which can boost unexpected properties and potentials in medical and biological applications. In this talk, I will discuss our recent studies on newly designed fluorescent and bioluminescent couplers and their applications for enzyme activity-based diagnosis and imaging. Along with directions for future research in our laboratory, in vitro and in vivo applications based upon these nanoprobes will also be introduced with respect to sensing, diagnostics and imaging of enzyme activity. |
