Bio-functionalization of graphene has been widely researched because 2 dimensional (2D) structures of graphene-related materials with high surface area are fascinating for the design of biosensor, biological delivery, etc. Soluble reduced graphene oxide has been prepared following noncovalent interaction between graphene sheet and folic acid. The resultant RGO/folic acid was well characterized applying UV-vis, FT-IR, AFM as well as with Raman spectroscopy. The non toxic behavior accompanied with optical microscopy evaluation thus can claim to use this preparation to apply in biological field especially in drug delivery system. As, folic acid is widely reported as target molecules to folate receptors which are over expressed in cancer cell, we applied our prepared soluble RGO/FA assembly on KB tumor cell through simple noncovalent interaction between RGO and FA. |
