Porous Polycaprolactone (PCL) fibers were successfully fabricated by electrospinning a solution of PCL dissolved in chloroform. The effect of fiber morphology was investigated by changing of pH as well as collection with/without water and temperature of water. The average diameter of produced PCL fibers was 12~14.5 μm and pore size was in the range of 0.3~0.7 μm respectively. The porous structure on the fiber formed well with collection in the water, lower water temperature, and strong base and acid condition. The surface morphologies of PCL fibers according to the condition changes were observed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and atomic force microscopy (AFM) respectively. The chemical, thermal, and structural properties of PCL fibers have been investigated by the combined techniques of thermogravimetric analyzer (TGA), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR). |
