제목 Release Behavior of PEG-PCL Block Copolymers wafer Loaded FITC-BSA for Implantable Protein Carriers
초록 One major use of biodegradable polymers in the pharmaceutical field is the preparation of sustained release formulations of peptides and proteins. Because of their poor oral bioavailability, peptides and proteins are administered through the parenteral route. We prepared the implantable biodegradable wafers comprised of PEG-PCL block copolymers and bovine serum albumin (BSA) labeled FITC as model protein. PEG-PCL block copolymers were prepared with different mole ratio of PEG and PCL by ring-opening polymerization. PEG-PCL block copolymers were characterized by X-ray diffraction and differential scanning calorimetry. After freeze milling for uniformed dispersion, the wafers loaded BSA-FITC were fabricated by direct compression method and release profiles of BSA-FITC were determinated by fluorescence intensity using the fluorescence spectrophotometer. The morphological change of wafers was observed by scanning electron microscope. We confirmed the feasibility of implantable device for controlled release of protein delivery.
