When metal nanoparticles are used as catalysts, catalytic efficiency can be significantly improved due to a large surface area of the nanoparticles. The nanoparticle-based homogeneous catalysis is superior with regard to activity and selectivity, whereas the recovery of the catalytic particles is challenged and reusability is almost impossible. To solve this problem, there have been attempts to attach the metal nanoparticles to various supporting materials such as oxide, silica, polymer, and zeolite. In this work, we propose two prototype catalytic reactions, based on the adsorption of catalytic nanocomposite particles to the oil-water interface and the magnetic responsive catalytic particles. |
