Electrical and Electronical Properties of Poly(2-ethynyl-N-hexylpyridinium halide)s Prepared by Non-catalyst Polymerization |

Considerable progress has been made in the synthesis and applications of organic polymers having a pi-conjugated backbone. Here we prepared poly(2-ethynyl-N-alkylpyridinium halide) by using non-catalyst polymerization method and characterized the polymer structure by various instrumental methods. The redox current value of poly(2-ethynyl-N-hexylpyridinium bromide) increased as the scan rate increased and the electrochemical process was reproducible. The dielectric response and the ac conductivity of iodine-doped poly(2-ethynyl-N-hexylpyridinium bromide) was studied. The real part of the dielectrical constant showed a stronger dispersion in the low-frequency region, and the imaginary part exhibited a nearly constant slope. |
