The preparation, adsorption and desorption of activated carbon fiber-treated potassium (P-ACF) catalyst prepared by wet impregnation were studied. The present study examined adsorption and desorption behaviors and the accompanied surface chemistry. NOx desorption studied on He at 5℃/min up to 600℃ using temperature programmed desorption (TPD) after NOx was adsorbed. By using ToF-SIMS depth profile, AES/SAM and XPS, we examined the surface chemical phenomena created on P-ACF through the adsorption and desorption of NOx. NOx desorption on ACF was mostly occurred within 200℃. As a result of surface characteristic studies, it was confirmed that potassium after desorption of P-ACF adsorbed NOx remain without loss in surface. The desorption depends significantly on the composition of the impregnant and the nature of the reacting carbon. The major factors that influence the rates of desorption with P-ACF are concentration of selective adsorption sites, structure, and pore diffusion of adsorbate. |
