제목 Ordered Phase separation of polymer blends films on Patterned Self assembled monolayers using Corona Discharge
초록 Polymer blends are very useful to improve properties of polymeric materials. The phase morphologies and interfacial structures of polymer blends are important factors to determine a mechanical, electrical and optical properties of polymer blends. Phase separation of polymer blend are generally random orientation. In this study, Self Assembled monolayers(SAM) and corona discharge are used to make a ordered structure of immiscible polymer blend. We make a SAM pattern on gold substrate using micro contact printing. Polystyrene(PS) and polylatic acid(PLA) blend films are formed directionally on patterned substrate. Directional solidification of PS/PLA blend is controlled by corona discharge which is generated from tungsten needle under high DC voltage. Micro structures of PL/PLA blends are shown ordered phase separation of which direction and morphology undergoes various influences such as polarity of SAM, electric field and pattern size.
