In this work, direct-grown carbon nanotube (CNT)-Ni/carbon fiber (CF) hybrid fillers were prepared by a CVD technique. The morphologies, structural properties, and electrical features of the CNT-Ni/CF fillers were measured by SEM, TEM, XRD, and a 4-probe technique. The EMI-SE of the composites was evaluated by means of the reflection and absorption methods. The mechanical properties of CNT-Ni/CF/epoxy matrix composites were characterized by the flexural strength. From the results, it was found that the electrical conductivity, EMI-SE, and mechanical properties were dramatically enhanced with CNT-grown conditions due to the micro-interfacial enhancement among carbon fiber surfaces, carbon nanotube surfaces, and epoxy matrix. |
