제목 Non-metal and Metal induced Visible Light Active Photocatalysis on ZnO and TiO2 Nanostructures
초록 TiO2 and ZnO are recognized as most versatile photocatalytic materials owing to their high photosensitivity and stability. However, the wide band gap limits their absorption to UV light. It was suggested that doping with non-metals or incorporation of plasmonic metal can extend the absorption of light to visible region. Block copolymers can be used as a useful template to fabricate various inorganic nanostructures due to their ability to self-organize to periodic nanostructures. We report PS-b-P2VP as a template to induce carbonized ZnO nanostrings via solvent annealing, ZnO incorporation and direct carbonization strategy. The visible light photocatalytic activity of the obtained C-ZnO was demonstrated through the degradation of dyes and photoelectrochemical water splitting using C-ZnO. In another context, we incorporated Au NPs onto TiO2 shell coated over SiO2 beads to study surface plasmon induced photocatalytic activity of SiO2@TiO2@Au nanostructures.
