제목 Temperature-dependent photonic crystal behavior of PNIPAM-functionalized SiO2 nanoparticle
초록 Quasi-amorphous photonic colloidal structure has attracted much research interest over the recent years in the various fields of science and technology because of its angle-independency and non-iridescent photonic colors which are considered to be useful for their applications in sensors and displays. Poly(N-isopropyl acrylamide) (PNIPAM) is a well-known temperature-responsive polymer, so we are trying to observe photonic crystal behavior of PNIPAM functionalized SiO2 nanoparticle by applying different thermal conditions. We anticipate that the sizes of these nanoparticles with the range of 140-180 nm show photonic color change on different temperature through aggregation/disaggregation behavior of attaching PNIPAM chains on SiO2 nanoparticles.
