Cu2ZnSnS4 (CZTS) in one of the most interesting materials for an absorber layer of low cost and low environment impact materials. In this study, CZTS precursor thin films were obtained from a sol-gel precursor which consists of copper (Cu), zinc (Zn), tin (Sn), and thiourea. The source chemicals were completely dissolved in a mixture of deionised (DI) water and ethanol to produce the precursor solutions, which were spin-coated onto Mo-coated soda-lime glass substrates. Here, we confirmed the effect of the composition of solvent by varying the DI water and ethanol (DI water: Ethanol = 10:0, 7:3, 5:5, 3:7) on CZTS thin films. We observed the change of the grain size, morphology, chemical composition, and the electrical properties of CZTS thin films by scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive spectroscopy, and x-ray diffraction. |
