Conducting polymer poly (3, 4-ethylenedioxythiophene) was prepared by solution polymerization. The monomer solution was prepared by dissolving monomer (EDOT), PVP and retardant in 1-butanol.The oxidant solution was prepared by dissolving FTS in 1-butanol.The mixture was applied to PI film by casting. In this study, we compared the different kinds of retardants which were DMAC and pyridine, and also the effect of molar proportion of retardant to monomer was studied. Thickness of the resulted PEDOT/PI film obtained by Alpha-step scanning was controlled about 1 micrometer by casting. And the film surface resistivity was measured using multimeter. The lowest surface resistivity we got was 41.8 ohm/square whose molar proportion of pyridine to EDOT was 0.6.
