Properties of highly transparent and conductivepoly (3,4-thylenedioxythiophene)(PEDOT) thin filmprepared by solution polymerization |

Poly (3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) have received growing attention from chemists and physicists because of the valuable potential applications of these materials in numerous fields such as electrode materials. In the present study, PEDOT with high electrical conductivity and high transparency was prepared by solution polymerization by chemical oxidation. The monomer solution of EDOT and poly (vinyl-pyrrolidone) (PVP) as a binder in 1-butanol and the oxidant solution of ferric p-toluene sulfonate (FTS) in 1-butanol were mixed and polymerized at 10°C. Then PEDOT thin film was prepared using spin coating at various speeds and post polymerization was performed at 70°C for 30 minutes. Spin coated PEDOT thin film from the solution showed high electrical conductivity of 980 Scm-1, low surface resistance of 200Ω/□ and high transmittance of 92% at 550nm. |
