Theoretical Study of Organic-Inorganic Hybrid Perovskite Materials and Photovoltaic Devices |

Organic-Inorganic hybrid perovskite is one of strong candidates for the next generation photovoltaic materials. After the first implementation of methylammonium lead halides as a sensitizer in the dye sensitized solar cells, the perovskite solar cells show fast increase in the photon to current conversion efficiency. Further enhancement of photon-to-electon conversion efficiency and stability need understanding of the fundamental physics of materials and devices, which can be addressed by theoretical investigation. Here I will present theoretical works on electronic structures of organic-inorganic hybrid perovskites and simulation on the device performance optimization. Factors governing band gap and the strategy to enhance the efficiency of the perovskite solar cell will be discussed. |
