Diabetes therapy to effectively control glycemic stability by the aid of various materials and strategies was significantly focused on recently. However, emerging issues in diabetes treatment, including sudden hypoglycemia, common infections, patient compliance, low compatibility, and high cost were still challenged, even not overcome in a flawless manner. In our report, we successfully fabricated electrostatic interactions-based Si/(PAH/PAA)5(PAH/PAA-insulin NPs)n multilayers incorporating insulin nanoparticles which were synthesized though a novel method of rapid pH-shift insulin crystallization and disassembly. The positively charged insulin NPs were introduced into the LbL film in the form of biocompatible PAA-insulin NP aggregates under specific pH condition and were released in physiological solution, triggered by changed charges of the insulin molecules. The insulin-incorporated multilayer film served as a patch could be used in transcutaneous insulin delivery. |
