To avoid the restacking problem of reduced graphene oxide (rGO) in aqueous solution, the graphene oxide (GO) sheets were reduced by immersion in hydrazine monohydrate solution after their fixation in the hydrogel network. Since the photothermal efficiency of GO was increased through reduction, light-induced shrinkage of poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAm)/rGO hydrogel was increased. With respect to potential applications, the photo-actuators fabricated with the hydrogel bilayer including PNIPAm/rGO active layer and poly(acrylamide) passive layer. Furthermore, we demonstrated that the fabricated photo-actuators with rGO showed full bending motion upon sunlight radiation. |
