제목 | Synthesis and Characterizations of Magnetic fluid for Magnetic Sealing |
초록 | In this study, we fabricated ferro-fluid for sealing applications. This fluid was synthesized by co-precipitation method, surfactant reaction mechanism and dispersed carrier fluid(Oil). Through the co-precipitation method, we obtained high saturation magnetization values of magnetite (Fe3O4) particles. Then we reacted two surfactants with magnetic particles surface. Through surfactant reaction mechanism, we expected magnetic particles have more steric properties as compared to using one surfactant. Two kinds of solvent were used for the dispersion of magnetic nano-particles (water, Oil) in the literature, results show that the dispersion of magnetic nano-particles was much more stable in oil as compared their dispersion in water. Morphology characterization is done by using SEM, TEM. Magnetite’s magnetic property and crystalline structures were measured by VSM and XRD. Magnetite’s functional groups were found by FT-IR analysis. For sealing applications, we measured zeta potential and dispersion stability. |
