제목 Synthesis and characterization of flame retardants using eugenol
초록 Eugenol is a material among various biomass and an oily liquid which is extracted from essential oils such as clove oil, basil. Among the biomaterials, eugenol has an advantage that it is easy to modify its chemical structure due to double bond and hydroxyl group. Also, an aromatic group is expected to be superior charring agent and have a better effect on flame resistance when synthesized with phosphorus compound. Additionally, the epoxidation of double bond in the eugenol-based flame retardant is conducted and its effect on flame retardance is compared via limiting oxygen index (LOI) and TGA.
