Platinum-based nanoparticles are widely utilized to convert reactant to product with reduced overpotential in energy devices including fuel cells and lithium-air batteries. For enhancing the activity of the catalysts, researchers developed several strategies such as alloying with transition metal and modifying nanoparticle by annealing and dealloying. Here, we studied platinum cobalt alloy nanoparticles changing their properties by post treatment. The modified catalysts exhibit distinct catalytic properties, improved ORR activity, and different anion adsorption features. Further investigation with tools such as X-ray diffraction, cyclic voltammetry, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy elucidates the effect of modification of PtCo alloy nanoparticles. |
