제목 Preparation of Crosslinkable polymers for Proton Exchange Membranes
초록 Crosslinking is an effective method to suppress water swelling, to enhance durability and mechanical strength of membranes. A series of the crosslinkable polymers were synthesized by aromatic nucloephilic substitution step polymerization. Thermal stabilities of the polymers in acid forms were investigated by TGA and DSC analysis. The water uptake of membranes was determined by the measurement of the change in the mass before and after hydration. The water uptake increased with the increase of degree of sulfonation (DS) due to the introduction of more sulfonic acid groups. The proton conductivity of the membranes was comparable with that of Nafion membrane under the same conditions. The proton conductivity of the membranes increases with increasing DS and temperature.
