제목 | Studies on Dimethyl(4-hydroxyphenyl)sulfonium Salts and Benzylpyrazinium Salts as a Cationic Photoinitiator |
초록 | In this study, photoinitiators, viz., S, S’-dialkyl-S-(4-hydroxyphenyl)sulfonium (4-HPS) salts and benzyl pyrazinium (BP) salts were synthesized in order to develop the cationic photopolymerization with high quantum efficiency in the region around 250~280nm. These resulting photoinitiators were characterized by using instrumental analysis such as NMR, TG, DSC, DPC, UV spectrometer. These photoinitiators were thermally stable and generated acids with high quantum yields upon irradiation by UV light. The resultant photoinitiators were examined for their practical application. The activity of the initiators was evaluated in the bulk polymerization of vinyl ether; acrylate and epoxy monomers. It was confirmed that the synthesized photoinitiators worked effectively to polymerize an epoxy monomer smoothly. And we found a clue to meet the need for new tailor-made solutions existing in the area of light induced cationic lhotopolymerization. Figure 1. Chemical structure of photoinitiators and the epoxide.
