We have enhanced thermoelectric properties of PEDOT:PSS and tellurium-PEDOT:PSS hybrid composites by using simple chemical treatment. Thermoelectric performances of thermoelectric materials are determined by electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity, and seebeck coefficient. Particularly, electrical conductivities of PEDOT:PSS and tellurium-PEDOT:PSS hybrid composites were greatly improved upto 4839.92 and 195.84 S/cm respectively by simple chemical treatment. It has been also found that power factor of those materials can be effectively tuned in a very wide range depending on concentration of chemical solution. The power factors of those thermoelectric materials were optimized to be 158.6 and 188.1 μWm-1K-2, which are nearly six orders of magnitude greater than that of PEDOT:PSS without any treatment. We expect that these chemically treated thermoelectric materials can be applied to the flexible thermoelectric devices with various device structures by using printing process. |
