Herein we report a self cleaning and photocatalytic surface by using titanium dioxide (TiO2) nanoparticles deposited glass substrate. For this purpose, the glass substrate is coated with poly (ethylene glycol)-g-[poly (dimethyl amino methacrylate)] [PEG-q-(CCDP)] and TiO2 nanoparticles deposition, respectively. Because of adhesiveness, the catechol moiety of CCDP within this coating material are promise to hold both glass substrate as well as TiO2 nanoparticles. The photocatalysis effect confirmed given the changes in the number and amount of TiO2 deposited on the CCDP moiety of PEG-q-(CCDP) surface. Moreover in harsh conditions of 60 oC, the photocatalysis effects on this glass substrate have found to remain unchanged. The coated the glass substrate by PEG-q-(CCDP) and PEG-q-(CCDP)/TiO2 confirmed by using contact angle, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) measurements. |
