제목 | The ratiometric detection of Cu(II) in ground water by using fluorescence chemosensor and EDTA as a chelating agent. |
초록 | We synthesized a fluorescent peptidyl chemosensor based on ArsR regulator peptide sequence for sensitive detection of heavy metal ions. Interestingly, the chemosensor showed responses to 16 metal ions in aqueous buffered solutions, whereas the chemosensor in the presence of EDTA, a chelating agent, showed an exclusively selective response to Cu(II) among tested metal ions. Upon addition of Cu(II), the chemosensor in the presence of EDTA exhibited a ratiometric response to Cu(II) by increasing pyrene excimer emission and decreasing pyrene monomer emissions. We investigated the binding mode of the chemosensor with Cu(II) in the presence of EDTA by using mass spectrometer, pH titration, and UV absorbance. According to our results, the Cys residue in the peptide receptor part of the chemosensor play a critical role for the recognition of Cu(II) in the presence of EDTA. |
