Polymeric photovoltaic devices are promising green energy systems that possess many advantages, such as light-weight, low cost, facile fabrication for large area, and mechanical flexibility. As a solar cell device, power conversion efficiency (PCE) is a very important parameter. In order to increase the efficiency of devices, many aspects should be taken into account, such as the absorption coefficients of the materials, the exciton dissociation rates, and the charge-carrier mobilities. Here a series of polymers alternated with donor/acceptor units were synthesized for tuning their band-gaps and improving photovoltaic performance. The PCE of the synthesized polymers was achieved over 1.5% under illumination of AM 1.5 (1000 W m-2) from a solar simulator. |
