Synthesis and Characterization of Acene-Type Materials for Organic Field-Effect Transistors |

Much progress on organic field-effect transistors (OFETs) has been made in various organic-based electronic circuits, such as displays, sensors, inverters, and logic elements. The field-effect mobilities of OFET devices based on vacuum-deposited small molecules are in the range of a few cm2V-1s-1. Among them, acene-type molecules consisting of a fully extended π-conjugation system have shown excellent OFET performances because their effective π-π stacking from highly planar structure leads to improve charge hopping. In this presented work we have newly developed a series of acene derivatives and characterized their OFET properties in various conditions. |
