Because vanadium oxides have unique thermochromic property, it can be applicable as NIR-blocking material in transparent smart film. In this study, vanadium oxide was synthesized at various reaction conditions in a teflon-lined autoclave from vanadium pentoxide with oxalic acid, as starting materials. When a certain temperature was reached, thermochromic characteristic was obtained at a visible region and transmittance was decreased largely at an infrared region. The properties of vanadium oxide was analyzed by the means of XRD, SEM, TEM, UV-Vis spectroscopy, and DSC. |
