제목 Synthesis of PEO-b-PNiPAM and PEO-g-PNiPAM using PEO-based macroinitiator and macromonomer via atom transfer radical polymerizations
초록 Transition metals are well-known to be used as catalysts for atom transfer radical polymerization(ATRP). Especially, Cu(I) halide-bipyridine complex has been used as ATRP catalyst system. This catalytic system may be used for synthesis of highly polar vinyl monomers such as N-isopropylacrylamide(NiPAM) in aqueous media. In this experiment, chain-end-brominated poly(ethylene oxide) was used as macroinitiator for preparation of PEO-b-PNiPAM using MMA type PEO macromonomer, we successfully synthesized poly(N-isopropylacrylamide-g-ethylene oxide) via atom transfer radical polymerization using the Cu(I) catalytic system. In this communication, the results of ATRP of these PEO-based macromonomers and macroinitiator will be present.
