제목 High refractive index and composed of sulfur-containing alicyclic Polyurethane
초록 The refraction is based on the interaction of electrons in a molecule with the oscillating electronic filed of light. Thus, one way to increase in refractive index is to use electron-rich atom as such sulfur. Sulfur-containing alicyclic compound is suggested for a high refractive index material. Thio-ketalization is a useful and convenient method to prepare the cyclic compound and polycyclizaton is schemed in a molecule for the high sulfur content. Thermo-opticeffect representing refractive index change toward heat exhibits one magnetitude higher for organics than that of inorganics. In general, the thermo-optic effect of organics is known to have structure dependency of low level (dn/dT = 1~2 X 10-4) excepting urethane. The study is aiming at development of high refractive index and large thermo-optic material. Sulfur-linked polycyclic diol is polymerized with dissocyanates and nesuting polymers are optically characterized in this presentation.
