제목 | Fabrication and Structural Characterization of Electrospun PAN-based Nanotubular Carbon Fiber and Carbon Nanorod |
초록 | The preparation and design of confinement structures in the range from a submicrometer to a nanometer scale have received a great interest for various kinds of applications. Examples are thin fibers for filter applications, fiber mats serving as reinforcing component in composite systems, biomedical applications or fiber templates for the preparation of functional nanotubes and the control release technology. Electrospinning has been shown to be a powerful and effective method for the preparation of such thin fibers. Though the electrospinning technology was patented in 1934 [1], the application area has been expanded recently, for high performance filters [2], scaffolds in tissue engineering [3] and electrodes for electric double layer capacitors (EDLCs) [4]. Here, we present a nanotubular carbon fiber and carbon nanorod preparationmethod using polymer blending, electrospinning, carbonizing and graphitizing techniques. |
