A lot of efforts have been made to secure novel technologies for production of renewable resource-based polymers that can reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions and prepare for depletion of fossil fuels. In the present presentation, we have developed a concept to obtain the useful polyamide type thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs) using by natural oils as raw materials. We will present a novel divergent approach to prepare both C-9 and C-10 monomers for TPEs from natural resources such as olive, corn and so on. These oils have a main component as oleic acid (olive oil (71%), corn oil (30%), and soybean oil(23%)) and we could obtain the monomers such as C-9, C-10 diacid and aminoacid from the same starting material, oleic acid. We expect it would be a groundbreaking alternative in the field of green chemistry compared to the conventional synthesis using petrochemicals nowadays. |
