Catalyst usingbiodiesel can be categorized into homogeneous and heterogeneous. Homogeneous catalyst such as NaOH, KOH is generally using for biodiesel due to high activity. But homogeneous catalyst has problems thatproduce large amount of wastewater and corrode equipment. Whereas, advantages of heterogeneous catalyst used in the biodiesel production are noncorrosive, environmentally benign, longer catalyst lifetimes, fewer disposal problems. In this study, we performed biodiesel’s charateristics using Calciumoxide, Magnesiumoxide catalysts and tried todeduce optimal conditions such as methyl alcohol/oil mole ratio, reaction temperature and stirring time. |
