제목 Surface modification with phosphide dramatically influences the hydrogen evolution activity of pyrite based cobalt selenide catalyst
초록 Hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) from electrochemical water splitting is one of the most effective pathway to produce large amount of hydrogen at low cost. Currently, first row transition metal derivatives have been suggested as a promising alternative electrocatalyst for HER because of their elemental abundance and exploring high catalytic activity towards HER. In this study, a pyrite-type catalyst of CoSe2 with a phosphide (P/CoSe2) surface modification was successfully prepared on CFP by solvothermal and phosphidation processes, and further controlled the composition of phosphorous on CoSe2-CFP by facilely adjusting the time duration of phosphidation process such as 30 and 60 minutes in the reaction system. Fascinatingly, a 30 minutes phosphidation process of CoSe2-CFP (P/CoSe2-CFP @ 30 mins) attained the lowest catalytic potential of 141 mV at 10 mA/cm2 with a low Tafel slope of 45 mV/dec. The morphology of as synthesized catalysts was examined by FE-SEM, and HR-TEM.
