제목 Covalent Functionalization of Carbon Nanotubes by Organic and Inorganic Materials
초록 Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) have brought considerable attention to a wide range of science and technology since their discovery. Due to their superior mechanical, thermal, electrical, and optical properties, it is expected to substitute a variety of classical materials in near future. In order to endow improved dispersion in matrices and extraneous functional properties, surface modification of CNTs is now a widely performed practice. Great deal of efforts has been devoted to both covalent and non-covalent treatments. In this lecture, a simple functionalization method to modify CNTs with vinyl polymers and inorganic materials such as silica and titanium oxide is to be presented in order to apply the modified CNTs in various technical applications.
